Our client is engaged in the design, development, manufacture and automation of products constructed of composite materials for a variety of applications and markets. They are looking for a sharp-eyed Quality Inspector to join their composites team. You will be a critical part of ensuring that every part that leaves their facility meets stringent engineering and customer specifications, from raw material intake through to final product sign-off.
Responsibilities include:
- In-process & final inspection: Carry out detailed visual and dimensional checks on composite components using technical drawings and CAD models
- Defect identification & NDT: Apply non-destructive testing methods including tap testing to detect internal defects.
- Metrology & measurement: Use precision instruments, calipers, micrometers, height gauges
- Documentation & reporting: Record inspection results accurately and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Raw material verification: Inspect incoming prepregs, fibres, and resins for material integrity
- Process compliance & audit support: Verify manufacturing against approved work instructions
Experience Required
- Experience: 2+ years practical experience in composite manufacturing ( hand lay-up, resin infusion, RTM, or autoclave processes).
- Technical literacy: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
- Standards knowledge: Familiar with ISO 9001 and aerospace, automotive, or defence quality standards.
- Attention to detail: An exceptional eye for subtle surface irregularities or assembly errors that automated systems miss.
- Education: A technical certificate or qualification in a manufacturing-related discipline is preferred.
