Senior Composite Technician - Boat Builder
We are recruiting on behalf of Australia's most awarded luxury motor yacht manufacturer for highly experienced and dedicated Senior Composite Technicians to join their talented team.

Skills & Experience Required 
 
  • Experience in Resin Infusion processes and implementing advanced composite technologies
  • Extensive experience operating a Gelcoater and/or Chopper Gun
  • Extensive experience in gelcoat repairs, sanding, buffing, and polishing
  • Experience in all aspects of detailing and buffing
  • Excellent hand tool skills and machinery experience
  • Flexibility to move within lamination areas and multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well within a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and pride in workmanship

Lamination: Open Moulding
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Prepare moulds, including applying release agents
  • Perform gelcoat taping and assemble additional parts
  • Laminate fiberglass components to lamination schedules (flybridges, hardtops, hulls, decks, and small parts)
  • Perform in-line inspections to minimize quality issues 
  • Install structural materials including wood, aluminium flat bar, foam, and core mat
  • Handle hazardous chemicals such as catalyst, resin, gelcoat, and structural adhesives
Lamination: Closed Moulding
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Perform mould care, preparation, upkeep, and repair activities
  • Laminate fiberglass components to lamination schedules (flybridges, hardtops, and small parts)
  • Pack pre-cut digital kitted composite fabrics into moulds
  • Install vacuums and feed lines, and apply vacuum bags
  • De-mould parts
  • Perform in-line inspections to minimize quality issues
