Lamination Infusion / Closed Moulding Manager

Qld, Australia

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for complete process of all closed moulded FRP parts
  • Driving continual Preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Reduce quality issues
  • Effectively manage and display production board
  • Ensure OH&S standards are complied with at all times
  • Supervise, develop and train employees and assist with training apprentices

Necessary Experience:

  • We are looking for proven leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to develop & manage a strong team.
  • 5+ years of large scale closed moulding experience (boat building preferred)  
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with silicone bagging preferred
  • You must be comfortable working in a diverse and dynamic environment

This is a permanent position and as Riviera is an international business, exporting around 55% of their annual production to a global dealer network spanning every continent, we would welcome candidate applications from around the globe. Research Scientist (Composite Characterisation)     

East Midlands, UK

A UK based materials/technology company is looking to expand their product development team with the appointment of a research scientist.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading internal and external characterisation activities of composite materials and resins and playing a key role in the development of new products. The scientist will work closely on a technical basis with customers and external research bodies, taking responsibility for developing and maintaining those relationships and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of composites characterisation technologies

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Masters in materials science or related science or engineering discipline
  • Experience in resin and composite characterisation
  • Understanding of structure/property relationship in composites.

Open & Closed Moulding Supervisor (GFRP)

Malaysia             

A specialist manufacturer of lightweight structures wishes to appoint a highly motivated Lamination Supervisor to their team at one of their production facilities in Malaysia.

5 years + experience at supervisory level in the composites industry is a pre requirement with a good understanding of technical drawings and lamination processes using open and closed mould techniques.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a 25 strong workforce, ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards and in a cost efficient manner.

This is a hands-on role where production targets must be met and projects executed on time.   Fluency in English is essential.

Composites Development Engineer

East Midlands, UK

Our client is a manufacturer of high performance protective finishes to international brands in the sports and industrial sectors. To support their ongoing business growth within composites, they wish to appoint an outstanding composite materials developer/engineer to help lead their drive into new market sectors with a particular focus on wind energy and aerospace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish, lead and run the in-house technical development laboratory for Composites applications
  • To lead technical aspects of development projects for coated product applications in resin infusion and prepregs
  • To liaise with external partners (customers, suppliers, Universities etc) as part of above projects
  • To attend external events such as conferences, seminars etc on behalf of the company

Skills Required
We are looking for an individual who is a confident and decisive decision maker but remains flexible to the uncertainties of a fast developing business.

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to MSc level with practical experience of composite manufacturing processes. Some international travel will be required.

Production Manager

A long established, family owned, manufacturer and supplier of GRP/Fibreglass components to the automotive and construction industries are looking to appoint a production manager who will assume full responsibility for a team of up to 15 laminators and finishers.  

Responsibility will be taken for:

  • Production scheduling & planning
  • Purchasing and overseeing goods in/out
  • Planning despatch & transport
  • Health & Safety within the factory
  • Training & motivating staff to ensure workmanship and quality standards are maintained

Applicants should have previous production management /supervisory experience within the GRP/Fibreglass industry and possess sound knowledge of Hand Laminating; Spray Laminating; RTM; Finishing and Pattern and Mould Making
